In Die organische und kristalline Beschreibung light from a powerful HMI projector passes through a wave effect machine furnished with a yellow and blue color filter and onto a convex mirror which reflects the shimmering, colored light across the Winter Palace’s Vestibule. Set in apparent motion by the wave effect machine, the light produces swelling and shifting streaks of blue and yellow that flood the entire entrance hall. In its dematerializing fluidity, Die organische und kristalline Beschreibung radically transforms and reconfigures the space, destabilizing the act of perception itself.
