SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) model
2 models: 24.8 x 20.5 x 15 cm and 22.3 x 16 x 15 cm
For the Seroussi Pavilion we looked into self-modifying patterns of vector fields based on behaviors of electro-magnetic fields (EMF). The logics of attention/repulsion were computed in plan and then “lifted” via series of structural micro-arching sections through different frequencies of the sine function. Our proposal for the new pavilion is inserting itself as a “ground implant”. It is acting as a connective tissue emanating towards series of objects on the site towards an assemblage of a diverse yet coherent whole. The logic of distribution algorithm is based on the above mentioned vector field. It is capable of responding to series of variable field conditions. Its ability to “grow” around the existing large trees or adjust its orientation allows for finer nesting into particular host conditions of the site. Extended radius of influence can weave the fabric of new implanted ground into existing landscape pathways. – the artist in conversation with Daniela Zyman
