Since the 1970s Roman Signer has used film and video to document actions that he performs. These events work like short-lived temporary sculptures and usually revolve around a deadpan joke and involve impish humor and a quasi-scientific approach. In Hay Fever, Signer sits reading, wearing a gas mask as hay is propelled from floor to ceiling around him.
