Ship-to-Shore with Robertina Šebjanič
Livestream on Ocean-Archive.org and YouTube
31 August 2026 | 19:00 – 20:00
Join us for a ship-to-shore connection with Robertina Šebjanič, an artist on board Schmidt Ocean Institute’s research vessel Falkor, on August 31, 2026, live-streamed on Ocean-Archive.org at 7–8 PM CEST.
Rhythms of the Ocean
Working with technology and in collaboration with scientists, artist and researcher Robertina Šebjanič investigates what she calls the rhythms, voices, and ruptures of aquatic worlds to help us re-imagine what it means to coexist with our world. Core to her work is the intersection of art, marine science, and research. Šebjanič is currently on board R/V Falkor (too) as an Artist-at-Sea during the #SaltyStaircases expedition in the Tropical Atlantic.
“Through my work, I strive to give presence to aquatic life, revealing the deep entanglements between humans, technology, and ecosystems,” explains the artist. “It’s not about speaking for these beings, but creating spaces where their signals can be felt, heard, and acknowledged—spaces of shared attention that help attune us to the rhythms of the ocean and its many voices.”
