TBA21 participates in Libros Mutantes, Madrid's largest independent publishing fair
24 April – 26 April 2026
TBA21 participates for the first time in Libros Mutantes 2026, an independent publishing fair taking place between April 24 and 26, 2026, at La Casa Encendida in Madrid, to bring its editorial work closer to local audiences. This editorial gathering brings together more than 130 publishers, editors, designers, and artists from around the world, celebrating its largest edition to date.
At the stand located on the ground floor of La Casa Encendida, visitors will be able to browse and purchase TBA21's publications, including Palestine is everywhere, a contributor-led anthology of testimony, poetry, essays, and artworks from Gaza and beyond, that amplify the relevance and global resonance of the Palestinian liberation struggle.
Also available will be The Commissions Book, an anthology of over 1,300 pages documenting two decades of TBA21's commissioning practice and exploration of concepts developed in exhibitions Abundant Futures and Remedios - Ecologías de la paz. Visitors will also find Silent Whale Letters, an epistolary and experimental book that explores listening to frequencies beyond human sensorial range, taking the "infravoice" of a blue whale as its starting point; Ocean Rising, a publication that brings together over 40 essays by artists, scholars, scientists, and ocean activists in response to the urgent transformation of the oceans; and OKEANOS, a selection of essays by scholars, historians, and thinkers interwoven with Allan Sekula's seminal texts on the maritime space and the material, economic, and ecological implications of globalization.
