Para el aula: Seba Calfuqueo. Cautín
With Marina Avia Estrada
19 November 2026
We propose a guided, conversational visit to the temporary exhibition Seba Calfuqueo: CAUTÍN, designed to share ideas and resources for independent museum visits with students, as well as to inspire educational activities in the classroom.
Artist Seba Calfuqueo takes the Cautín River, located in Wallmapu, the ancestral territory of the Mapuche people, as a starting point to explore the consequences of colonial processes, the occupation and dispossession of land, and the privatization and pollution of water. The exhibition presents the river as a living and complex territory, shaped by humans, animals, plants, rocks, and protective spirits. Drawing on the Mapuche worldview, it invites us to reflect on the relationship between nature, identity, memory, and ways of life.
