Claudia Pagès Rabal

Claudia Pagès Rabal (b. 1990, Barcelona) is a visual artist, performer, and writer whose multidisciplinary work brings together language, movement, sound, and choreographed bodies to examine the dynamics of social hierarchies, queer economies, belonging, and desire. Working across performance, installation, and text, Pagès uses their own body and voice—alongside those of collaborators—to navigate the politics of space, identity, and communication.

In recent years, Pagès has been investigating the cultural and political histories of the Iberian Peninsula during the al-Andalus period, focusing on overlooked or contested sites that reveal the tensions between feudal militarism and advanced urban life under Muslim rule. Their work explores architectures of self-defense and the lingering effects of colonial erasure, drawing connections between historical structures and contemporary systems of control and resistance.

Pagès has been recognized with the Ojo Crítico Visual Arts Award and has participated in international residencies at Gasworks in London and the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam. They live and work in Barcelona.
