The world we want to see

We believe in artists' capacity to radically reimagine planetary systems and in art as a way of experiential learning. We envision a just and resilient world—one that redefines the rights of all beings to co-create systems rooted in respect and mutual care. This world fosters conditions regenerative to life, embracing complexity and nurturing kinship among humans and the more-than-human.

Our values guide our work. They shape our intent, clarify our navigation of complexity, and inform how we assess and sustain relationships—with each other and our environment. For more information on our Values in Action, click HERE.

How we work

Our mission acknowledges the interconnected nature of the systems we work within and the intersectional nature of the problems we seek to address. We recognize the privilege and power from which we operate and are committed to responsibly supporting and uplifting others.

Our journey to regenerative practice

In line with our vision, TBA21 is committed to moving beyond offsetting and harm-reduction practices to placing environmental, social, cultural, and economic regeneration at the core of our work. As active members of the Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC), we are dedicated to improving our and the wider sector’s practices. See more information about the actions taken in line with the GCC values HERE

As part of this journey, we collaborated with UreCulture to conduct a series of comprehensive case studies on the ecological and social impacts of the collections and the commissioning processes behind them, whether regenerative or negative. The outcomes of these case studies are consolidated in the ‘Ecological and Social Impact of the TBA21 Collection’ Reports. See examples of the first studies below.

Case Study: Re-Stor(y)ing Oceania, Ocean Space, Venice
