Ocean Families: Atlas of Blue. Water Reveals

In dialogue with the themes of the exhibition Tide of Returns, the penultimate event in the Atlas of Blue series invites children and families to experiment with cyanotype, an ancient photographic printing technique that uses light and water to create images with characteristic blue hues.

During the workshop, shells, ropes, nets, natural elements, and other collected or recovered materials will be arranged on photosensitive surfaces and exposed to light. Immersing them in water will gradually bring out shapes, silhouettes, and imprints, revealing the traces left by the objects.

Through a process of waiting, observation, and discovery, each participant will create a personal composition, transforming everyday materials into images capable of evoking underwater landscapes, memories, and relationships with the lagoon environment.

The resulting cyanotypes will finally enter into dialogue with the collective blue weaving initiated during previous Atlas of Blue events, enriching it with new images, materials, and memories.

The workshop will be divided by age group:

• 11am – 12pm | Workshop for families and children aged 3 to 5 
• 3 – 4:30pm | Workshop for families and children aged 6 to 12
