Convivial Tables in Campo!

Saturday, September 19 marks the return of the end-of-summer community event Convivial Tables in Campo! where, in the public space of Campo San Lorenzo, we celebrate the connection between food and ecology, the ways in which they affect bodies of water, and the stories and cultures of coastal and lagoon communities.

Now in its fifth edition, Convivial Tables in Campo! is the public restitution of the research carried out in the preceding months as part of TBA21–Academy’s Convivial Tables program at Ocean Space.

The 2026 edition of Convivial Tables was curated by Bogiaisso (Alice Jasmine Crippa and Niccolò Moronato), who developed the project INVISIBILE – Spores, Words, Currents, taking inspiration from the perspective of those who work behind the scenes of Venice’s scenography: “the invisible” — the gestures that regulate the flow of small boats through the canals, the schische or pignatèle — meals eaten away from prying eyes — the words understood only by those in the know, and the places where people reclaim their own version of the island.

Starting at 6pm, Campo San Lorenzo will come alive with conversations, the presentation of a new publication connected to the program, convivial and culinary moments, and a sound performance.

From 6 to 7:15pm, a workshop for children led by Ocean Space’s Education Department. Throughout the evening, in Campo San Lorenzo, the Kids Corner, featuring a selection of picture books and marine-themed readings, will be open for our youngest Ocean Friends.

• 6 – 7:15 pm | Atlas of Blue. Figures that hold memories

An educational activity inside the Church of San Lorenzo, where participants will have the opportunity to create memory figures or dolls using personal or recycled fabrics and materials (shells, ropes, nets), and add new elements to the collective blue textile. Participation is free, with registration required via this link.

After six months of research exploring invisible culinary and cultural places and practices, the fifth cycle of Convivial Tables opens with a moment of collective sharing.

Festa Portatile invites the public to bring to Campo San Lorenzo something that can tell the story of their own way of feeling at home: a photograph, a recipe, a map, a game, or a pastime. Or perhaps a snack or a pignatèla for a packed dinner, to share and enjoy together with others.

Through this simple gesture — bringing something and placing it among others — an informal space for socializing takes shape: a place to meet neighbors, discover affinities, and imagine new ways of being together.

• 6pm | Introduction and tasting from the publication

Bogiaisso introduces the program with anecdotes gathered during the four boat trips. This is followed by a preview presentation of INVISIBILE. Spore, parole, correnti, the digital publication resulting from the fifth cycle of Convivial Tables. With Kayla Archer, Zoë De Luca Legge, Clizia Moradei, and Cairo Clarke. We will also read some contributions from guests of the Centro Servizi San Lorenzo, whom we thank for their collaboration with the program.

• 6:45pm | INVISIBILE remix

The reflections that emerged over the six months of the program are remixed and expanded through contributions from the public. Everyone is invited to take part by writing, thinking, and adding to or attaching what they have brought from home. The activities are facilitated by Laura Anastasia Pellecchia.

• 7:30pm | Culinary intervention with pignatèle by Bogiaisso and Michela del Longo Meneses

The evening will be nourished by tastings of pignatèle d’autrice — work meals inspired by the program and developed from testimonies gathered during the four boat trips, created with the supprt of MORSUS Kitchen. Introduction to the recipes, the MORSUS Kitchen project, and a special cocktail created for the evening. With Michela del Longo Meneses, Bogiaisso, and Jacopo Marras.**

• 7:45pm | Performance by Melma Crew with Tonylight

A live audiovisual immersion in the canals of Venice. A microscope, a projector and a synthesiser are used to transform the invisible inhabitants of the canal waters and the forgotten corners of Venice into a performance that is both abstract and hyper-real, in which one can lose oneself whilst gazing at the screen or the microscope slide.

**From 5:45pm to 6:45pm in Campo, you can take a free ticket for your signature pignatèla. Tickets are limited and available while supplies last.

Niccolò Moronato is a visual artist, researcher, and translator. Since 2022, he has been working with the fishing community of Chioggia through Bogiaisso, the SONAI collective, and Trattoria Guaiana.

Alice Jasmine Crippa is a cultural researcher, co-founder and Experience Director of Bogiaisso. Since 2023, she has been working with the community of fishers, craftspeople, and people passionate about making in Chioggia, curating and co-creating community-based artistic productions.

Kayla Archer is a writer and researcher from Barbados, based in Mexico City. Through collective memory, the intersection of art and ecology, and the history and politics of resistance to colonial logics, her research explores the micro-connections that run through this region.

Zoë De Luca Legge (she/her) is a curator and researcher. Her practice focuses on post-natural and transfeminist studies, developing exhibitions, residencies, and publishing projects that support artistic processes beyond performativity.

Cairo Clarke is a London-born curator, writer, and researcher of Indian and Jamaican heritage. Her research focuses on conceptions of time and the preservation of collective memory, centering embodied knowledge, decolonial practices, and spiritual ecologies.

Clizia Moradei is a postdoctoral researcher in design and an adjunct lecturer in the MA in Fashion Design at Università Iuav di Venezia. She also teaches Visual Research for Design at ISIA Firenze. Her research interests include sustainable fashion practices and methodologies, new materialities and ecologies, critical approaches to fashion design, product design, and visual arts.

Laura Anastasia Pellecchia lives in Naples. Since 2022, she has collaborated as an arts mediator with various organisations and initiatives in the Naples area. She is currently completing a Master’s degree in Languages and Intercultural Communication in the Euro-Mediterranean Area. Her thesis research focuses on Contemporary Art History, with a focus on forms of artivism in public space.

Michela Del Longo Meneses was born in Marghera and trained in Venice. In 2024, she completed a Master’s degree in Photography at ISIA Urbino. Her work is often contextualised between Marghera, Santiago de Chile, and Val di Zoldo — places to which she belongs and which are inscribed within a network of devotion and nostalgia.

Jacopo Marras has worked in the hospitality industry for over twelve years, specialising in bartending and mixology. His experiences alongside leading professionals and in bars and hotels have shaped his approach to the profession, driven above all by curiosity: observing, experimenting, making mistakes, and starting over.

Melma Crew. Since 2021, Zoe Romano, Alex Piacentini, and Giacomo Silva— a trio of artists and designers based in Milan — have developed an interdisciplinary practice driven by a desire to connect with the hidden, pulsating currents of the landscapes they explore.
